One Outfit, 3 Ways - Part I

Ever look at your closet and feel like screaming, "I have nothing to wear!!"? It happens to us all. We get used to pairing certain pieces together and when you're in a rush, it's easiest to just grab what you see and go. That's why so many of us fall into a fashion rut.

But if you try looking at your closet with a fresh set of eyes, you might be surprised at what you find. Start with just one piece and go from there. Take your favorite shirt. Instead of wearing it with the same jeans you always do, why not try it with a pair of leggings, knee-high socks and boots? Make it a point to try something different each day, and you will. You'll be amazed at how many great combinations you come up with.

This week, I'm going to wear one outfit three different ways. I started with this asymmetrical pleated top from our collection, and paired it with a simple black skirt. This first look is a sophisticated one, using just these two pieces and keeping it simple by emphasizing the jewelry. I chose to wear it with flats here to show how it can work for day, but throwing on a pair of heels and a clutch purse easily takes this look into night.

Remember, when wearing a top that has special details like an asymmetric neckline or a shoulder bow, it's best to wear your hair up so as not to distract from the rest of the look.
