Hello there!
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to go to nearby markets and check out local vendors. Recently I went to DC Meet Market in Logan Circle, where there were some great vendors selling their interesting designs! One vendor was selling gorgeous handknit pieces she sourced from Peru. Another created upcycled furniture pieces, and yet another had the cutest idea that converted a foodtruck into fashion and accessories boutique! You never know what you're gonna find when you go, which is half the adventure!
We finished up with snacks at Le Diplomate, which had the yummiest Vietnamese coffee ever!

This weekend was crazy busy. Some of my best friends who I've known since childhood visited from out of town and my friends here threw me the most beautiful baby shower ever! They knew I'm not wild about ballerinas and princess themes, so they went with a cute jungle safari one instead. I wore leopard print (you know how much I love leopard!) to celebrate. We had amazing desserts from La Madeleine (I think I ate all the chocolate mousse shots by myself) and cupcakes from Couture Cupcakes DC. We played fun games with prizes, including designing onesies with paint and glitter pens, which I just loved! I felt so lucky to have amazing friends who went out of their way to put together such a great shower. Thank you to my lovey friends (you know who you are!)

Fashiononable Events: Fashion for A Cure This Sunday, April 28th @ The Huxley in DC
Hey everyone!
Don't forget to come check out Haute Heritage on the runway at Fashion for a Cure this Sunday in Washington, D.C.! All proceeds go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to help fund cancer research. It'll be hosted by the District's very own Paul Wharton of The CW's Paul Wharton Style. And looks like Refinery29 and The Washingtonian think it's where to be this weekend, too.

Fashionable Events: DC Fashion Week, International Couture Fashion @ The Embassy of France
Last week was D.C. Fashion Week here in the District. After a week full of fashionable events throughout the city (including an interesting local designer show @ Tesla below), the grand finale was an international couture show held at the beautiful Embassy of France.
Of course fashion events in D.C. would have an international/diplomatic component to them... but I guess that's what makes this city so unique :) The great thing about this town is that it's so culturally international. The runway showcased designs from around the world, so the show was practically a geography lesson itself! But the best thing was seeing the amount of great local talent we have here and the support our designers are receiving. I'm looking forward to seeing the fashion design and art communities in this city grow in coming years.
Anyway, hope you enjoy these pics. I will continue my travel photo diary in the next post!

Today's post is the last in the Wedding World Tour Series. I hope you've enjoyed this peek inside a special moment for all of us and hope you've also been able to vicariously experience the beauty of a South Asian wedding if you've never before been to one. It is indeed an adventure!
These pics are from the last reception, thrown by the groom's side. The reception took place inside an old private residence in the walled city of Lahore, known as a haveli. After dinner there was a mesmerizing qawal performance by the nephew of Pakistan's legend, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The performance was beautiful, as were the venue and couple.

Continuing with the wedding world tour series, here is part III of the wedding festivities. This event was a daytime reception given from the bride's side. It was done in a secluded part of the old city of Lahore, very close to the Indian border. The weather was beautiful, and the venue was open-air with canopied seating arrangements throughout the space. In keeping with the theme, everyone (including the bride) wore gorgeous shades of cream and gold.

Hey there everyone,
Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's day! To celebrate the festive moment, here are pics from Part II of my sister's wedding extravaganza. These are from the ring exchange and religious ceremony. The bride wore a custom white embroidered shalwar kameez and I wore a dress from our line's upcoming season. Because it was a religious ceremony, we kept our makeup simple and opted for conservative clothing.

Local mag DC Modern Luxury hosted an event last week celebrating local fashion and stylish interiors. The event offered a preview of Zoe Boutique's spring collection and gave guests guided tours of the newly renovated Normandy Hotel. Located in a lovely neighborhood in the Embassy District between Dupont Circle and Cleveland Heights, the Normandy is a chic boutique hotel ideal for a private getaway.

Spring is here ladies and gentlemen, and what better way to celebrate than with the latest spring fashions? Last night Jimmy Choo hosted a lovely spring charity shopping event at its store in Bethesda. The District's fashionable ladies showed up dressed in bright spring colors from hot pink shoes to lime green clutches - making for a great streetstyle shoot opportunity. Proceeds from the event went to benefit the Shoot for Change scholarship at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at the American Ballet Theatre. There were yummy hors d'oeuvres and champagne for guests to enjoy as they viewed the Spring/Summer collection. Take a look!

And here were some other looks that were a little different at least in the amount of details, sequins, beads, etc. used:
Nevertheless, I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the same old looks! Isn't there anything else? I want to see something different, something new! Every design that came down the runway I thought, "I've seen this a million times already!"
What do you think? Do you like traditional styles of Pakistani clothes or would you (like me) like to see something different, something modern, even daring?
