Summer's almost over, so wear your whites now! Last weekend we did the best outdoor thing you can do when it's so hot: go swimming!
But before that, we strolled around Old Town Alexandria. Here I'm wearing a simple blue off-the-shoulder top with white jeans. I wanted a pop of color, so I added some red tie-on chunky heels, and added a colorful ethnic-embroidered clutch I bought when we were in South Asia a few years back. You know how I love mixing chic ethnic-inspired pieces with everyday clothes!
What do you think - do you like the ethnic touch, or would you prefer to see a different style for an unexpected pop of color? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below - I'd love to hear your ideas!

I love this gold and black belt! It's edgy and chic all at the same time. I wore it here on an otherwise plain black dress for work, with nude heels.

I'm inspired by all different global styles, and love incorporating ethnic pieces into my everyday outfits. I have a lot of South Asian and Pakistani clothes in my closet because of my personal cultural heritage.
The pieces are so beautiful, but I can usually only wear them on special cultural occasions. So I've set out to make them wearable in any outfit, any occasion.
That's where the "Repurposing Ethnic Pieces" series comes in. You can check out previous posts in this series (Parts 1, 2, and 3) here, here and here.
Here, I take a traditional Pakistani lehenga choli and wear the choli as a short embellished vest over an everyday black shift dress.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments below! What do you think about repurposing ethnic pieces for a more versatile, everyday look? Would you try it out?

Hi guys!
I hope you're having a great summer and that you were able to take some time to yourselves to decompress, relax, and just take a deep breath.
We took a short trip to Puerto Rico last week before getting back to the grind - and it was more amazing than I had expected! We visited two different parts of the island - Fajardo and Bahia Beach, and took a day trip to Palomino Island which was out of this world. White sand and crystal-clear still water. I love that feeling of swimming in fresh salty water (and not having to worry about chlorine turning my hair green, haha).

Hello lovely readers,
I am back with tons more outfit posts coming up! I had to take a bit of a break after the birth of my son earlier this year, but I have lots of new ideas I can't wait to share with all of you!
In the meantime, you can follow me on Instagram @sanaaansarikhan, where I post more daily outfit pics.
This summer has been a SCORCHER. I try not to leave the house without adequate sun protection (a hat is absolutely necessary in this 100 degree heat).
After baby #2 was born, I need both my hands free more than ever when we are all out together. I can't be struggling trying to find things in a big purse all the time, so I picked up this crossbody camera bag, and I carry it everywhere with me on the weekends now. It's not very big, but just big enough to carry the essentials: wallet, sunglasses, and keys.
It's been really convenient!
I'm also loving that mules have come back from the 90s to join is in the 2010s... they're so convenient to slide on and off, and I am really over flip-flops.
