Spring is in the air! And when it's so nice out, how can one help but want to spend every moment outdoors? We recently made a resolution to try as many new things as possible. This weekend we joined a friend at Andrews Air Force Base in Virginia for a few rounds at the driving range. Being married to an avid sports fan, it's important to find a way to keep up once in a while! :) Plus, getting to do these kinds of activities together is always a lot of fun. Even better when you can manage to get some cool-looking shots out of it to share with everyone.
I'm looking forward to sharing some shots of the cherry blossom festival taking place later this week. Keep checking back for more updates!

Hello lovelies!
After researching designs for years and not being able to find what we love, we decided to take matters into our own hands and design a collection worthy of our adoration.
Introducing the Haute Heritage Collection.
Haute Heritage combines the rich color and texture of traditional tribal designs found in South Asia and the Middle East with modern silhouettes and styles.
We just launched Haute Heritage's brand new Facebook page! There you can order many of the unique pieces I wear here on this blog as well as other lovely accessories and evening wear.
Check it out and stay tuned for updates on Haute Heritage's fashion show to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society later this month in the District!

It was a gorgeous weekend - it finally felt like spring for the first time! We celebrated by taking a lovely stroll down King Street in Old Town Alexandria, which is one of my favorite little neighborhoods around here. It has all these tiny cobblestone streets and old, colorful storefronts. Very quaint and beautiful!
I am loving wedge sneakers right now by the way. It gives me that extra 2 inches without the pain of heels. I've been wearing them everywhere lately. Yayy wedge sneakers!

This picture of Rihanna is just gorgeous - the red lipstick and nail polish she's wearing complement her skin and hair perfectly. An '80s throwback, red lips and nails worn together lend just the right amount of color and glamor. Finish it off with a subtle ombre hair shade in a caramel hue, and you've got a great update on the look. Rihanna barely needs anything else in this pic to look so amazing!
So let's do a post on getting this look. There are hundreds of red lipsticks and nail polishes out there - it's just a trial-and-error process to get the ones that look best on you. I use MAC lipstick in Ruby Woo and Essie nail polish in Really Red. I love the contrast of red matte lips with shiny red nails.
What are some of your favorite red lipsticks and nail polishes? Leave your favorites in the comments below!

One of my favorite things in magazines is the style collage. Laying out different wardrobe staples and showing you how to put multiple looks together using just a few pieces, it really helps with the visuals.
So voila - here's a style collage to show you how to take a cool pair of jeans and simple striped T from day to night. The camo vest is a great addition for day, instantly bringing a casual cool vibe to your look. Paired with comfy velvet cigar slippers, you have a comfy ensemble to take you all over the city. For night, instantly add some glamor with these gorgeous Valentino stilettos and this funky DVF clutch. And the black beanie and leather jacket are great additions for a chilly night.
Enjoy!

Hey everyone!
Today's post will be the last in the travel photo diary series on our trip to the Old City of Lahore. And what better way to end it than with photos of the spectacular Badshahi Mosque lit up at night? These photos were taken from two different rooftop restaurants near Food Street, Andaaz and Cocoo's, after full days of sightseeing. The food was amazing - some of the best Mughlai chicken I've ever had - so if you ever get a chance, be sure to check them out after your tours. The views are some of the best in the city.
Enjoy!

Hey guys,
As promised, today I'm sharing photos of our travels exploring architecture in the Old City of Lahore. Visiting this historical and culturally rich place that my parents called home during their childhoods was a very self-reflective experience, and to hear their stories about how the city has changed - and how it hasn't - was pure joy. I feel lucky to have been able to share this experience with them and am grateful for the fond memories!
The building you see below is the Badshahi Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world built in 1673 and also the architectural inspiration for many mosques built after (including the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, which you can check out in my post on our trip to the UAE here.) The architectural details - including the gorgeous, symmetrical archways that created scientifically-precise acoustics - are phenomenal. I think the photographs really speak for themselves, so I'll say little else and leave the rest for you to check out yourselves.
Enjoy!

Fashionable Events: DC Fashion Week, International Couture Fashion @ The Embassy of France
Last week was D.C. Fashion Week here in the District. After a week full of fashionable events throughout the city (including an interesting local designer show @ Tesla below), the grand finale was an international couture show held at the beautiful Embassy of France.
Of course fashion events in D.C. would have an international/diplomatic component to them... but I guess that's what makes this city so unique :) The great thing about this town is that it's so culturally international. The runway showcased designs from around the world, so the show was practically a geography lesson itself! But the best thing was seeing the amount of great local talent we have here and the support our designers are receiving. I'm looking forward to seeing the fashion design and art communities in this city grow in coming years.
Anyway, hope you enjoy these pics. I will continue my travel photo diary in the next post!
