Travelogue: Milwaukee Tour Part II, Public Market + Benelux + Villa Terrace
Monday, August 19, 2013
Happy Monday lovely readers!
As promised, here's part two of the Milwaukee tour. In this segment, I'll share with you pics from our visits to the historic Third Ward and Villa Terrace.
The Third Ward is one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in town. It's a historic warehouse district with great views of the harbor, some quaint cobblestone streets and lovely cafes where you can catch up with old friends. One of those places is the Milwaukee Public Market, with its eclectic variety of delis, bakeries, and coffee stalls. After browsing through the artisan cheeses, we went across the street to the rooftop terrace at Cafe Benelux for some great burgers and where we enjoyed the rest of the gorgeous afternoon.
Finally, we made our way to lakeshore drive where we stopped at Villa Terrace, another one of Milwaukee's most famous sights. Originally a family home built in 1924 to look like the Villa Cicogna Mozzoni in Lombardy, Italy, it's now a decorative arts museum open to the public.
I hope you enjoyed this tour of my hometown! If you're ever in town, be sure to check out some of these places - it will be a unique experience for sure!
