Fashion Runway: Pakistan Fashion Week Spring 2011
Friday, April 22, 2011
Style inspiration can come from anywhere! Incorporating global fashion inspiration can make your look stand out from the rest.
I love fashion inspiration from South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh) and their use of bright colors, flowy silk fabrics and embellishments. These elements in your look can add a bold, feminine and sparkly touch.
At the recent Pakistan fashion week, Muse was the most fashion-forward of all the designers this season, taking cues from international fashion trends including tassels, mixing bold primary colors, and nautical stripes. I liked that they took the traditional embellished tunics and turned it on its head by working embellished pajamas instead.
Some looks from design house Karma. Notice the flower crown theme and pastels as well as the emphasis on embellishments:

I like your blog!! I loved the first one with the embellished pajama. Beautiful. I have always loved traditional Indian wear like sarees, kurtis etc, they always make you feel feminine and graceful. Keep posting more :-)
