Some of you have been asking for recommendations on good mascaras out there.

Mascara can really change an entire face!


















The best mascara out there hands down is DiorShow Extase - it makes your lashes absolutely HUGE! And, at $30 a pop, it better!
















However, I do think $30/mascara is a bit ridiculous. So I've looked for less expensive alternatives - the best I've tried has been L'Oreal Extra Volume Collagen. This one really plumps up my eyelashes and is 1/3 the cost of DiorShow.

I have been looking for a pair of earrings like these on J.Lo since forever! They're classy and blingy at the same time and would go with everything!
























I also like this simple, hammered gold statement necklace on Olivia Wilde - paired with a simple and boldly colored dress as she does here, this jewelry piece adds that extra oomph to make your outfit.

I don't know about you, but I spend A LOT of time in our kitchen... slaving away! Just kidding. But given the amount of time I spend there, the least I can do is try to make it comfortable and visually appealing!

Pendant lights really finish off a kitchen by adding a touch of elegance and soft, warm lighting. I love these pendant light examples.

And the funky bar stools add extra decor while also providing a comfortable place to take a quick seat.

Mallika, on the other hand, could have surprised us all with going a little more fashion-forward instead of opting for the overdone sexpot. Can you imagine how fresh and stunning she would have looked in something like this Spring 2011 Elie Saab?





It's as if Mallika suffers from too much sex appeal, and Aishwarya, not enough.

Some of you have been asking for pics about what we've done so far to the house... so here are a few!
This is a photo of what used to be the family room, which we've now converted to the dining room:

What we did:
(1) PAINT. We re-painted the room in a slate gray shade on top and ivory on the bottom to give the room a more formal feel. It's really amazing how much paint can change the entire look of a room - don't underestimate the power of color!
(2) CHAIR RAIL. We divided the shades with a chair rail to make the room look more finished.
(3) LIGHTING. We removed the ceiling fan and replaced it with the black chandelier.
(4) FLOORING. Remove all those rugs - there's no need for 15 rugs in a room! It just hides the hard-wood floors and adds clutter!
